Color-tinted. / Replica ships presented by Spain to the USA for the World’s Columbian Exposition in Chicago in 1893 were restored and used in the film. A hand-tinted copy of the film was presented to Pope Pius X, who awarded Selig a medal for providing the film industry an artistic, moral model of production — the medal is now on display at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
